PreSchool Partners to break ground on Operation Schoolhouse facility in Birmingham

Pre-School Partners And Townhome Development—Former McElwain School Building

PreSchool Partners aims to equip families of at risk preschool children with the skills necessary to achieve success in school, and that mission continues with Operation Schoolhouse, a $2.6 million capital campaign that will allow Preschool Partners to reach and sustain an even broader group of families.

“Operation Schoolhouse will give us a facility that is safer and serves the needs of our families better,” said Lella Hamiter of PreSchool Partners. “We will be able to add facets to our program that we don’t currently have such as a rainy day activity room, parent education rooms, a conference room, and offices for all of the staff.”

PreSchool Partners will break ground on the property of the former McElwain Elementary School, 4447 Montevallo Road, for Operation Schoolhouse Wednesday, March 12 at 11 a.m.

The opening of the new school is poised to coincide with the 20th Anniversary of PreSchool Partners, and build off of the foundation its services have offered.

“PreSchool Partners helped me to understand the importance of learning and put me on a path to success,” said Reuben Carson, PreSchool Partners Class of 1998 and current Naval Academy student.
